So naturally, I’m sick. So sick I actually wrote this article days ago and thought I posted it!
The whole house was sick. We hadn’t been home together yet somehow we all got sick at the same time. Other than keeping Difflam and Kleenex running, we’ve had to make sure two of us, in particular, don’t get even worse (fucked up immune systems are all the rage).
I thought that if I’m not in the right might to make an actual ‘Quality Post’, I should at least make a quick post about the three things that have really helped cut down the length and severity of my cold. I hope it might help you or someone you know who might be in the throws of phlegm and insomnia.
This isn’t a paid post in any way. I know we have this in our FAQ but I felt like I should reiterate that this is my real-deal, personal opinion and has not been sponsored in any way.
When I realised that a sore throat I had woken up with wasn’t going away I went straight to this. Years ago I was given Difflam throat spray for strep throat and it is honestly the first thing I go to when I know I’m getting sick. I love how it has a long nozzle to reach back to painful, inflamed areas without numbing your whole mouth.
There are two kinds; normal then strong/forte. Since I do get strep throat easily and frequently, I always go straight for the forte.
Once my sore throat was over and done with, I had a stupid blocked nose to contend with. You know how one side blocks up then clears and goes to the other side? Yeah, that bullshit. However a few months ago I did invest in a recommendation from the chemist. She had sworn by Flo Sinus Wash for not only general sinus issues but gross, phlegmy blockages, so I grabbed the starter pack and headed home.
I cannot tell you how relieved I am that I had this product. Instead of having one blocked nasal passageway for a day or two followed by the other side blocked for another two days I managed to cut it down to one day. One day. Cleared the left side in the day and woke up in the middle of the night to clear the other side. I’ve used it 3 times within 24 hours instead of blowing my nose and flailing around for days. Do you know how incredible that is? I only have swollen nasal passages which are the only thing that’s interrupting my sleep, but that’s it.
I’m not used to being well so damn fast, so I feel that at any moment my body is going to do a complete 180 and pile drive me straight into a full-blown, month long flu.
For now, though, I’m keeping myself rugged up with boring water on a constant supply and am thankful I’m not snotting all over my clothes.
