My Favourite Drug Store Makeup Products

I’ve been slowly packing away stuff for our move in a month, at the same time wondering what to post for you all before we go on a mini-hiatus… and before I lose my mind.

While picking up some items from Priceline and Chemist Warehouse, I realised I’ve never shared some of my go-to, favourite drug store/pharmacy/chemist products!

I picked only one item from each brand to make it more interesting and apparently variety is the spice of life (can you just feel how tired I am?)!

loreal-infallible-eyeshadow

L’oreal Paris Infallible Eyeshadow
$5

I’m surprised there isn’t much talk about these eyeshadows anymore, they’re so cheap and the colours (especially All Night Blue) are incredible! While there is a little fallout, the colour is highly pigmented and has beautiful flecks, giving it a striking colour when the light hits it.

NYX-lip-lingerie-embellishment

NYX Professional Makeup Lip Lingerie Lipstick
$15

I love the 90s nostalgia of the Lip Lingerie shades! While you can get similar shades in other brands, these are a great price for a highly pigmented colour. My favourite? Embellishment.

BOURJOIS-123-CC

Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream
$25

I’ve only recently started using this and so far I’m really impressed. Usually tinted moisturisers and CC (Colour Correcting) creams I try have too much of a yellow tone or too stark white but the Ivory shade is a nice even colour, easy to blend and lightweight. Great to use as a stand-alone product if I don’t want to slap on some foundation.

MAYBELLINE-Instant-Age-Rewind-Eraser-concealer

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles
$19

I’m jumping on the Maybelline brushy/spongy concealer train because of the light feeling of the product on the skin as well as the brush itself making it easy to fill creases around the eye. For me, I find that although it might not cover up my very prominent dark circles, it’s comfortable to wear every day and does brighten up where applied.

ESSENCE-Long-Lasting-Eye-Pencil-hot-chocolate

Essence Long-lasting Eye Pencil
$3

Essence is such a reliable brand that everyone I know uses or has used because they are cheap but have a great payoff.
One of my favourite products is their long-lasting eye pencils, especially the Hot Chocolate shade; a dark, rich brown that goes well with almost any shade. Although I don’t really like mechanical pencils, the product is so smooth and if I need sharp lines I apply it with a small angle brush.

Revlon-Youth Fx-Forehead-Primer

Revlon Youth Fx Fill and Blur Wrinkle Filler Forehead
$30

I’ve briefly talked about this and I just love it. I know it sounds like a fad but it really made my forehead lines disappear and the harder ones minimised. I use it around my eyes as well and I love how thin and light it is, which makes it dry quickly. I also like how it’s a brush to concentrate it where I need and want it most.

NUDE-BY-NATURE-Mineral-Veil-Finishing-Powder

Nude By Nature Mineral Veil Finishing Powder
$40

I got this in a face set complete with the Natural Mineral Cover foundation and brush (also one of my favourites) and it is absolutely my favourite product by the company. I use it to give my foundation a nice finish, especially when using the Mineral Cover to just give a bit of blur around my nose and inner cheeks where pores are more prominent. I keep forgetting to try it with my liquid foundations so if I have great results there I’ll add it below.

SAVVY-Eyebrow-Pencil-blonde

SAVVY by DB Eyebrow Pencil
$5

This is actually my go-to brow pencil. Super cheap, easy to make natural hairs and I love hard bristles to add softness. It also has a pretty good staying power for such a cheap product.
