This Video Game Finally Lets Me be a Detective Cat

That’s all you really need to know, isn’t it? An open-world game is about about a group of cats on a remote Maine island that try to figure out where the hell the humans have disappeared to.

I cannot stress how insanely excited I am right now.

Originally a Kickstarter campaign, Peace Island gives you license to explore the fiction in Maine as any or all of the cute cats. Eric Blumrich, game developer and animator, says if you’re not an explorer, that’s fine too-

Blumrich – with the help of his very small team – work tirelessly on the game and even update Patreon‘s on every bit of progress, including any minor setbacks, leaps forward, animations and behind-the-scenes photos (including one of his closet desk which I can indescribably relate to).

Something I’ve really admired is Blumrich’s dedication to keeping this a game where microtransactions won’t exist and once you buy the game, you own it. Even if in the future he wants to expand it in some ways and introduce DLC micro-transactions, I would happily put money towards it because I know so much love and hard work has gone into this indie game.

You know what I really love though? No exclusivity. I have been dying to play Detroit: Become Human and and Spider-Man since before their releases, but because I’m poor-ass and can’t afford a PS4, I’m sitting her sulking like some first-world problemer (which.. I mean I am, I get it). Peace Island won’t have any of that “Steam/Playstation/PC only” and that makes me so happy.

Another thing I love is that this game won’t be a grind, something I’m feeling in the new Red Dead Online summer update and have felt in a few games I’ve play over the last year or two. Cats don’t grind – sure, some tasks are difficult and a journey, but you know what cats do when they don’t see a tanglible reward in it for them? They bail.

One of the early animation tests. Look at that coat! That slinky strut! The dancing TAIL!

I’ve only known about the game for a few months now (and a Patreon contributor for a little less) and I’ve been impressed with how quickly the graphics have improved. The above photo is the most recently uploaded one in this post and you can see just how much colour, depth and texture has been added.

The PC option is available with Mac still having some issues worked out but should be available soon. I really can’t stress to you how excited I am to play this game, and I really hope if you’re interested you check out the Patreon and support a beautiful-looking game!

Here Are Some Of My Living VS Dying and other Theories For Avengers: Endgame

avengers-endgame-AAAHHHHH
Tomorrow at 8am, along with many others, I will see Avengers: Endgame. This is the end and my head has been on constant Charlie Day, Always Sunny Conspiracy mode for the past year but hooo boy has it been amped up in the last few days.

I thought it’s best time to rant oh god I don’t want to see it anymore this has been part of my life for ten years and can’t everyone be happy just god be happy talk about some theories I have and who I think might live or, ugh, die in this last Avengers movie.

Even though I saw those first leaked set pictures from a while ago, any theories pertaining to it will be down the very bottom in white text you must highlight to see [like this! Hi!]. Other than theories pertaining to that, this post won’t have any spoilers; this is just my ramblings from what I know from the comics and have been and what have stuck out to me from previous movies, like I did on this post.

This Is The Shampoo That Gets Me Through Sweaty Australian Summers

My-Organics-sebum-control-shampoo

I’m gonna say this straight out of the gate.. the title is a lie; I use this shampoo exclusively. All year long. My greasy head needs it, but now it’s summer here and my hair doesn’t like being washed every day, so I really needed a shampoo that didn’t exacerbate the issue and cut through the sweat, grease, oil, grime, death- pretty much anything and everything.

The Best $2 I Have Ever Spent On My Face

my-face-on-cloths

As a former beauty advisor and all-round person who just needs to know stuff, I have tried a lot of different face cleansers, both manufactured and home-made. Lately, though, I’ve been scaling back as we could be moving (for real this time) and I finished up the last of my cleanser, so on a whim at the supermarket I bought something for $2 that has made me postpone using cleansers this winter.

Are you ready for it?

$100 Beserk Haul!

beserk-logo

I’ve been a fan of Beserk for such a long time after seeing their booth at a convention a few years ago. If you’ve never heard of them, they’re an Australian online store with fashion, accessories (including stuff for roller derby!), beauty and pop culture, basically, a one-stop shop that covers the more alternative and less mainstream items.

So The Evil Assistant gave me a gift voucher* for my birthday last year and I finally used it to get some of the most random items I wanted!

[* I want to add that I actually had an issue with my gift certificate and wasn’t sure if it was still valid but Beserk still upheld the gift voucher and were so speedy and nice with every email, it made me so happy and I will definitely use them again!]

YouTubers That Keep Me Sane

YouTube-thank

I’m not great when it comes to what’s hot, what’s new, what’s even happening right now anywhere (like, have you seen this blog? I’m the hungover, sleeping dude in the back of a van, constantly late for class), so I rely on some YouTube channels to let me know what’s happening, but most importantly to entertain me and cut through the bullshit.
I don’t have time. I have gone down too many video rabbit-hole ventures and am strangely getting more impatient as I get older.

So I’ve made a list of some YouTube channels I’m personally subscribed to that make my days more enjoyable.
