Places I Want to go for Halloween: USA Edition

Four weeks until Australia doesn’t celebrate a cool holiday that actually has an interesting history behind it. So when I was thinking of posts for this spooky month, I realised there were so many places in the world I would love to go for October and especially Hallows’ Evening. Naturally I came up with so many that it would be impossible to list them all in one post; even my US locations were going to be a long post, so for today I picked five – all in different states – to show you today.

 

 

All these are public areas (except Greystones interior, you need a permit) so you can freely wander and take pictures if allowed. Be mindful if you do visit these places to be respectful of the residents and your surroundings – I know it’s stupid I bring it up but.. people are stupid.

Ginger Spice Pfeffernusse Mummies!

For today’s Halloween post … we’re cheating. Well, let’s not call it cheating; we’re going to be upgrading a German classic treat into a cutie Halloweenie treat!

Great save by me yet again.

This Halloween Treat Transformation can be done with prepackaged biscuits like Twirls, Caramello Koalas, White Chocolate fingers, or treats you might usually make like White Christmas chocolates, cookies, Rice Krispie balls or bars and white chocolate pretzels.
The cookie I’m going to be Halloweening is a ginger spice cookie/biscuit called pfeffernüsse. This German treat was something that reminds me of my nanna, who would always have them on hand when my sister and I went to visit her.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Spiders!

I’m going to make a conscious effort this year to give you some Halloween-themed posts! To start it off I’m going to share my mum’s recipe for chocolate spiders. My sister and I loved these as kids and if tomorrow mum called and said she made these, we’d probably rush over there in two seconds.

It’s true, mums make the best foods.
