Realistic Ways To Take Some Years Off

ways-to-look-younger-main

Hey guys, welcome back! How are you? That’s good! I’m back with a beauty-based post to start our April off and -spoiler alert- this won’t be about getting Botox or rubbing jellyfish on your face. It’s going to be easier and realistic ways that you might not have thought about if you’re looking to appear younger.

I do want to preface this with why we’re doing this kind of post. Last month I was scrolling through Twitter and a certain thread reminded me of a customer I had years ago for a certain brand at a certain department store. This customer and the Twitter user felt their thin brows aged them and were wondering how you start growing thicker brows out after 10+ years of extreme plucking.

I decided that if this is something that’s been actively searched for on a daily basis but there are small things anyone can do to help them take some years off (or, more importantly, feel better about themselves), and I have some tips, I should share them. You might find you’ve tried all of them or find them redundant, but I hope something helps someone out there.

Review: Nars Lipstick Pencils

Nars-lipstick-review-cruella-rikygien

Wow, our first makeup review for 2019! I’ve been rummaging through some of my things and found this little duo from Nars in shades Cruella and Rikugien!
Believe it or not, I haven’t had much time playing with Nars; sure I have the Orgasm blush, played with the Creamy Concealor and I like the shades available in their Multiple sticks, but that’s really it.
So today I’m really excited to look at two of their lip products, in particular, their lipstick pencils. While it’s a packaging move you don’t see much of, me and my tiny lips actually like lipstick pencils as it gives you the coverage of a normal lipstick with more of the application ease of a lip liner.

Let’s look into it a bit more.

You Paid HOW MUCH For That??

piggy-bank-has-left-me

Lipsticks are regularly between $20-$30. A palette with five eyeshadows can be close to $100 bucks and the cheapest and usually ‘cost-friendly’ packaging apparently is the most bougie thing because it has an ominous K attached in it.

What the fuck? Did I go to sleep one night and wake up in an alternate timeline? Did I hit my head? Again? Wasn’t the MAC lipsticks I was buying in Canada 15 bucks like.. two seconds ago? Now to get one I’m looking at $36?? Again, what the fuck?

With previously non-cosmetic brands dipping their toe into the makeup waters, beauty influencers (aka “YouTube Makeup People”) attached to companies being the norm, everyone is taking a ride at getting your money. I mean, that’s cool; competition is good for customers as we hold the key. However, the price I’m willing to spend and the products I’m offered are not on the same page most of the time. When I review a product on here, the price and value are pretty much the top of the pinnacle… which I guess is why I haven’t reviewed much makeup.. *cough*

Anyway, it’s getting a bit ridiculous out there and I want to know why, so, I went on a month-long journey down the Alice-In-Wonderland rabbit hole to gather as much information and to cover different areas and instances. It was… stressful. My eyes hurt. The speech program on my computer needed a glass of water every 1000 words spoken.
Do I have any real information to give you? I don’t know, but let’s find out.

[I might try to break this up into smaller parts because once you go down this rabbit hole of bullshit, it’s hard to get out. I literally have 12 tabs open, 2 down from a few days ago.
Also, don’t be surprised if I amend this post 20000 times because I’ve forgotten to put things in it.]
